Schedule
The
overall
design, manufacturing, assembly, test and commissioning time amounts to
approximately
four years, including the phase A study. The Phase A study was finished
February 2008, the according review took place in March 2008. After
positive
LBT board approval Phase B of the project could be started with a
Kick-Off
meeting which was held in June 2008. In contrast to Phase A
estimations, it
turned out that a two month shift of PDR, and an according movement of
FDR to the beginning of 2010 is required to ensure the
necessary workload to be
executed properly. The estimated schedule as seen from today is shown
in the figue above. As we
know this schedule is quite ambitious. Nevertheless
we intend to make LBT in terms of LGS AO competitive with world class
large
facilities. This includes to push for a tight schedule and early
installation
at the telescope.
